Folar is the bread made in Portugal during the Easter season and is made with water, flour and eggs, and it is a genuine Portuguese tradition. There are many different kinds of recipes and cooking but its flavor can range from salty to sweet. Many folares are topped with a poached egg with shell (which are usually dry folares), but there are also folares of herb that are, usually, sweeter and are caramelized.

It is in the soul of the Portuguese people the fish from its sea. Grilled sardines, hake, cod cooked in so many ways ..., mackerel, salmon ... anyway, the list is almost endless. That is why the Lisbon Cannery has been dedicated for over 80 years, since 1930, in keeping the fish a little more by offering (I mean, you have to pay) for each can of fish a practical, fast and nutritious meal. A sort of fast food but good and healthy.
The Lisbon Cannery owns three brands being the Tricana one of them (the lady), the Minor (the kitten) and Prata do Mar (with the sailboat and seagulls). The Tricana exists since 1942 and we can find big fish in their cans and they put whole fillets inside by hand.
The Minor is more for snacks and starters with small minnows and fish pastes. The Prata do Mar offers canned cooked that facilitate the day-to-day meals.
You can find the shop of Conserveira de Lisboa here:

Monsaraz
From Monsaraz you can see a vast plain, secular lands, very old, made of lime and shale, a place where you can relax in modern times and stay away from all machinery in fury. It's National Heritage Portugal.
It's an amazing town that takes refuge within the walls of a medieval castle and assumed great importance while the Restoration Wars.
Its history is immense, and although it was initially conquered by Dom Afonso Henriques during the Reconquista, the Almohads dominated it again. But later, in 1232, Dom Sancho II recapture it and donate the settlement to the Order of the Temple (Templars).
Its narrow streets, cobbled, its whitewashed small houses, and little influence of modern civilization make it one of the most beautiful towns in Portugal.

It was founded in the X century by D. Godo Trutesindo Galindo ascendant of Egas Moniz, the governor, to build in this place his palace. Served as a shelter to abbot Radulfo, when of invasions of Almançor (994). Constituted themselves as an Benedictine community.
The monastery was vacated very years after and one shafts to drop in state of degradation. Was target of some maintenance works in the eleventh century, come to be completely recovered in mid thirteenth century. In the same time was made an amplification of the attached church.
New conservation campaigns and restoration were taken in the eighteenth century and later, in the twentieth century, after a violent fire the wooden roof was devored in 1927.
Presents an architectural style in the transition between Romanesque and Gothic.
Integrating the conjunt is the monastery Romanesque Chruch of Three ships with significant proportions, in which stands a beautiful rosacea in the front. Their trace TVs influence on the whole region of Penafiel and can tell you that this temple fits the other monuments of romance style, such as Roriz, Gander, Travanca and Pombeiro.
Inside this monastery we can find Egas Moniz, the preceptor of Alfonso I of Portugal, buried. Inside the tomb there is a weird little copper box with his funeral ashes. The tomb itself is a great sin with high-reliefs that portraits the visit of the governor of D. Alfonso Henriques to the court of the kingdom of Lion.

Of all the little nooks of Portugal, Marvão is one of those that comes immediately to our mind. Its location on the top of a monstrous rock, on the summit of a high mountain, is undoubtedly one of its greatest oddities. However, because it looks frozen in time, the town of Marvão retained its architectural characteristics and medieval traditions, inspiring any visitor on a journey through the medieval age.
